"girlpire writes with such sincerity and truth to character that it is impossible not to fall in love with this fic. Spike reaches out to Angel through the ties of time and their relationship evolves from hate to tenderness in the space of a single day lived many times. Spike's journey of discovery and his determination to get through to Angel is both heartbreaking and inspiring. The unique plot coupled with the wonderful intricacies of the Spike/Angel relationship present both an insight into their past and a new perspective on their future. Words escape me when I try to describe the impact that his fiction had upon me however I would urge you to read it for yourself and experience the wonder of a truly magnficient tale and crazy talented writer."

"Wow. Oh, you want more? This is an intricate love story that weaves its way into your brain and doesn't want to leave. It's one of those stories where you are dying to know what happens next but you just don't want it to end. It's not the most original idea but it's done in such a way that it never feels old or borrowed at all. A lovely read."

Date: 2007-12-12 05:55 am (UTC)Wow! Seriously, Wow!
Date: 2008-05-19 08:34 pm (UTC)" ... Saturday night, just before I was thinking of heading off to bed I thought I'd have a little read, see what I thought, you know. Didn't want to commit, besides, bedtime.
I read the first part. Couldn't stop reading. It has taken me until just a few minutes ago to finish the fic. ( I'm a slow reader, a plodder, and also had to figure out how to enlarge the print because I find reading on the computer uncomfortable.) But I'm seriously thinking I may have stumbled upon the perfect fic.
The first part was the most seductive read I've ever experienced. girlpire drew me in, over and over again, deeper and deeper (you'll understand when you read it.) I laughed out loud! I sobbed. Get that, it's important. I sobbed. Not sniffles, eyes tearing-up, but gut wrenching sobs, snotty, heartbroken end-of -the-line sobs. I honestly can't remember the last time a fic affected me this way.
The skill of this writer is mind-boggling! Her characters are spot-on, her voices ring as clearly as Joss wrote, as clearly as the actors spoke. I lack the ability to praise this fic fully, partly because I just don't have the skill and partly because I'm still in stuns-ville, I haven't quite disengaged from the fic.
So, this is a rec, a huge big SERIOUSLY! You've GOT! To Read This! Rec."
Re: Wow! Seriously, Wow!
Date: 2008-05-20 02:42 pm (UTC)"friday" was by far the most difficult story for me to write (it took me several months) so i am more proud of it than any of my other fics... and it makes me so happy when someone feels moved by my work. especially moved enough to cry!
i checked out your original rec post and read the comments to it, and at first i was disappointed by what sp23 said... but then i saw that even she began to read and enjoy "friday," and that makes me even happier.
thank you again for the wonderful rec. :)
